Indian construction and engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that its Saudi unit, L&T Renewables KSA, has signed a MoU with Onaizah Colleges to prepare local students for careers in renewable energy, supporting the kingdom’s energy transition and its Vision 2030 goal of developing a skilled national workforce.

Signed on the sidelines of the 25th WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh, the agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in practical training, research and workforce development.

As per the deal, the organisations will work to provide students with opportunities for internships, co-operative training and exposure to renewable energy projects.

They will also explore employment pathways at L&T for qualified graduates. Other areas of cooperation include workshops, guest lectures, research collaboration and professional development programmes.

A. Ravindran, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Renewables, signed the MoU with Dr Abdullah Saleh Alshetaiwi, Chairman of Onaizah Colleges, in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Alnajim, Dean of Onaizah College of Engineering and Information Technology, as well as other senior L&T Renewables officials.

"Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy expansion requires professionals with practical, industry-relevant skills. Through this partnership, we aim to give students valuable exposure to real-world projects and help prepare them for careers in the sector," said Ravindran.

The partnership supports Saudi Arabia’s efforts to build local expertise for its expanding renewable energy sector, aligning industry requirements with education and skills development under Vision 2030, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
