An American Concrete Institute (ACI) presentation during Big 5 Construct Egypt 2026 this month will highlight emerging technologies and low-carbon materials that are reshaping concrete production worldwide.

ACI will deliver a presentation during a featured session titled “Advancing Carbon Neutral Concrete: Innovations, Standards, and Industry Impact.”

Scheduled for Wednesday, June 24 (1:50 pm to 2:10 pm), the presentation will explore how the concrete industry is responding to global demands for decarbonization and resilient infrastructure.

Presented by Ahmad Mhanna, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Region for ACI, the session will examine the role of cement emissions in climate impact and highlight emerging technologies and low-carbon materials that are reshaping concrete production worldwide.

Attendees will gain insight into the evolving landscape of codes, standards, and regulations driving sustainable construction practices, as well as the growing importance of industry-wide collaboration. The presentation will also showcase the work of NEU: An ACI Center of Excellence for Carbon Neutral Concrete, advancing innovation, validation, and industry alignment to accelerate the adoption of carbon-neutral concrete solutions across the Middle East and North Africa.

As governments, developers, and manufacturers increasingly prioritize sustainability goals, the session is expected to provide valuable perspectives on the future of concrete construction and the pathway toward lower-carbon infrastructure.

Big 5 Construct Egypt will take place June 23 – 25, 2026, in Hall 4 of the Egypt International Exhibition Center.  - TradeArabia News Service
