Qatar's QAR4.5 billion ($1.24 billion) project to build 14 new schools under the second package of its Schools Development Program has reached approximately 80% completion, marking a significant milestone in the country's efforts to expand education infrastructure through the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The progress was announced during an inspection visit by Eng Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), who reviewed construction works and the various phases of project implementation, according to an Ashghal post in LinkedIn.

During the visit, Al Meer was briefed on the latest developments and the advanced construction technologies being employed, including 3D printing and modular construction methods using prefabricated structural systems and building modules to improve efficiency and accelerate project delivery.

The development comprises 14 schools across 10 strategic locations in Qatar—Muaither, Al Gharrafa, Al Wajbah, Al Thumama, Ain Khaled, Al Aziziyah, Al Meshaf, Rawdat Rashid, Al Sakhama and Rawdat Al Hamama.

Upon completion, the schools will have a combined capacity of more than 10,000 students, supporting Qatar's growing educational needs while highlighting the country's adoption of innovative construction techniques and the PPP model for delivering major public infrastructure projects. - TradeArabia News Service
